We are delighted to have won first prize in the competition for the 9-group Kindergarten Kyrau in Kirn.

With our design for the new nursery school, we are creating a space that offers children room for play, discovery and learning together, whilst seamlessly integrating into its surroundings.

Instead of a single, large, contiguous building, the extensive spatial programme is divided into three buildings of varying sizes. Dividing the building volume creates a scale appropriate for children and enables manageable, clearly defined areas. Together, the three buildings form the nursery, whilst each retains its own appropriate scale. In particular, the two ‘nest’ groups are provided with a sheltered and quieter area in their own building.
