haascookzemmrich STUDIO2050 in collaboration with Ramboll Studio Dreiseitl have won 2nd Prize in the urban design competition "Budapester Platz / Friedhofstraße Stuttgart-Mitte / Nord": "The design is defined by 4 characteristic places, which respond to the existing context. The available area is fully optimized, areas dedicated to traffic are minimized, the design proposal provides both visual enhancement and a range of amenities which promote the quality of public realm. To the north a "suburban typology" with small-scale courtyards follows the existing topography. This offers pedestrian connections in all directions. The building forms are well proportioned and assigned diverse usages, creating a vibrant urban environment with a good network between public spaces and ground floor areas" (extract from the jury report).
