The Alnatura Campus was recognised as a showcase project and achieved a top 10 nomination in the UN Decade on Ecosystem Restoration.
The awards recognised projects that restore, maintain or preserve natural habitats in German cities and demonstrate how urban spaces can be made more liveable, climate-adapted and closer to nature. Communication, education and social participation were also decisive factors.
The Alnatura Campus in Darmstadt impressed the jury in the “Urban Nature Renaturation Project” category with its concept.

16,000 square metres of a formerly heavily sealed military site have been renatured. The site is home to our KinderNaturGarten and Alnatura Arbeitswelt projects.
